Some private schools in the UK may be expensive but those costs may well be worth it according to the latest studies. It has now been proven that most pupils that come from private, independent schools will see a “wage premium” later down in their career.
The study conducted by the Social Market Foundation shows that most people in their thirties who attended private schools can earn up to 38 per cent more a year compared to those coming from public schools.
Then again, many criticize the class divide present in the nation today and voice “outrage at the waste of talent in Britain”.
Sir Peter Lampl, chairman of the Sutton Trust: “I gained an Oxford education and a successful business career largely thanks to the fact that I had access to a free education at a leading independent school. But the opportunities I and many of my generation enjoyed no longer existed for young people in 1997.”
As the chairman of the trust he is now using he findings of the report to press its case for an “open access” scheme to leading private schools. According to Sir Peter Lamps, all young people from disadvantaged backgrounds should be admitted to top independent schools for free.
Nevertheless, the fact stands that a private school can be best for your children when you want to maximize their chances later on in life. Schools such as the Kingshottschool, a reputable independent school Hertfordshire make it their goal to educate children while at the same time making sure they will grow up into mature and responsible adult. If you are interested in good prep schools in Hertfordshire, the Kingshottschool should be on your list of private schools to consider.
