There are lot of people selling Twitter secrets, tools and ways to increase blog traffic and twitter follower count. I will say these are just money vampires (scam). You don’t have to pay a cent, see the tip at the end of this post. We must first understand what twitter is and is for. There are no secrets in using twitter, though there are some basic things we must know. Google it, you will find many and see the FAQS at twitter.com.

A question for you: Does twitting your blog post has any benefits in the search engine? If you want an answer just google search your own tweeted messages. The answer lies there.

Let’s use our common sense. I follow Darren Rowse of Problogger because I know him as a blogger and I know what he write about. Whatever he tweet, it force me in some way to click the link provided or get involve even when I am damn busy.

Do you think a twitter user with 10000sss followers and following will ever pay attention to your tweets? The hope or idea of getting blog traffic from Twitter is becoming void or useless because most bloggers do is follow people to get followers or follow them back to increase their follower count and show the popularity count button at their blog.

First we must make ourselves a place or a mark in the mind of a user or fellow twitters. We don’t have to be a star. We just need to be a better blogger, connect with them and stay alive on twitter. And don’t always tweet about you or your blog. Tweet about people you follow or cool news, humor etc.

If all you want is to increase your twitter follower count. Go to  www.tweepi.com . If your interest is blogging, choose the keyword “Blogging” and click the search button . It will list down hundreds of users associated with that keyword. Now you can select them all and start following them. You can also unfollow them using the same tool.

Give them sometime to follow you back-a day, a week or a month. After that go to www.huitter.com This twitter tool provide a feature to bulk unfollow user and unfollow who don’t follow you back.
